Although I already solved that problem, I decided later to update VirtualBox to that version. How, for the sake of clarity, the name of that adapter actually changed from Atheros to Qualcomm Atheros, as a new driver was installed during the recent upgrade process from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Another problem was resolved successfully. I started my VM and it booted without any further issue. When I opened the same dialog for the configuration of the virtual network card, that drop-down list named Name was filled properly. I selected again the same VM and chose this third network connection. I clicked on the button and closed this dialog. I clicked on the button named, accepted EULA and started the installation process. This will start Oracle VirtualBox and initiate the update process for this Extension Pack.

The next step was to install the extension pack.
When it finished, I unchecked the option Start Oracle VM VirtualBox 6.1.8 after installation and clicked on the button named. Anyway, I will not going here in the details of this process, as it is very straightforward.
This process takes a while grab a cup of coffee and relax. The update process will actually uninstall ye olde installation and install a newer one version, keeping all settings and VMs.
As I was still on the version 6.1.6, I decided to download and install (in that moment) the latest version 6.1.8. I checked first for an available update and there was one. I searched the Net and found on a few forums the suggestion to try to uninstall then install again VirtualBox. And there was surpise – the list of available network adapters was empty. I clicked on that network card and a new pop up dialog appeared. I checked the settings of that VM and found that the correct adapter already should be selected. This is the core router inside my virtual lab and it always worked fine. It claims that one of the network adapters is not properly configured in the bridge mode and that I need to choose the correct network interface on my laptop. However, instead to running it normally, VirtualBox throw out an error message.
